The Gemsbuck’s grey-brown coat is separated from their white underparts by a thin, black horizontal stripe. The Gemsbuck alsohas distinct facial markings including a thick black stripe running from the base of their horns, through their eyes to the lower cheek.

Gemsbuck horns are long, narrow and ringed on the bottom half. Horns are found on both sexes, but the bull’s horns are thicker than the cows.

Gemsbuck can usually be found in herds of up to 30 animals.

Hunting Gemsbuck can be very challenging due to their eyesight, smell and hearing.

Suitable calibers for hunting Gemsbuck are the 270-300 Win Mag rifles.
